Claudia's Creative Catering builds claudiascreativecatering.com to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA. WCAG is the published set of guidelines for making web pages usable by people with disabilities, including people who use a screen reader, a keyboard, or a magnifier.

What the site does for accessibility

• Every page uses real headings and landmarks (header, navigation, main content, and footer), so a screen reader can jump from section to section.
• A skip link at the top of each page takes keyboard users straight to the main content.
• The menus open and close from the keyboard, and a visible focus ring shows which link or button you're on.
• Text contrast is checked against the AA level.
• Photographs carry text alternatives that say what they show.
• No information depends on color alone.
• The site has no forms to fill in. Every catering order starts with a phone call.
• Buttons and links you tap are 44 px or larger.
• Pages adjust to fit any screen, from a phone to a desktop.
• The site uses gentle motion, and that motion runs for every visitor.

Known limits: the Google map

The map in the footer and on the contact page is embedded from Google Maps. It's third-party content, so Google, not Claudia's Creative Catering, controls how it works with a keyboard or a screen reader. Our address, 1000 S 52nd St, Rogers, AR 72758, is also written out as plain text in the footer of every page.
